Crazy week(s) and Random Outfits.

The last few weeks have been CRAZY busy!

When I get home from work the last thing I want to do is turn on my computer, hence the lack of blogging.

Here are some outfit photos from the last few weeks - both casual and corporate.

Have a great weekend all! x

Anne Frank Exhibition.

I was invited last night by Rabo Bank to the opening of the Anne Frank Travelling Exhibition at the Jewish Holocaust Centre in Elsternwick.

A Holocaust survivor addressed the room, which was very insightful and very emotional.

I think the story of Anne Frank is such an overpowering one because it truly speaks to both young and old. She was only a child, 13 years old, when she started writing in her diary.

This Exhibition was created by the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. The secret annex that housed the Frank family was not reproduced. However, within the Exhibition was a very large print of the room.  The print was placed in a room about the size of the Frank's secret annex.

The Exhibition will be travelling around Australia for the next few years. It will remain in Melbourne until 28 April 2013.

Everyone should go and check it out.

Interior Magazines.

Today was a very sad day for me. My brother moved to Sydney for a minimum of two years for work. It was very hard to control the tears, but I managed as best as I could.

When I got home from the airport, I ate some comfort junk food. I always feel the need to eat junk food of a plate. It is one of the weird, quirky living alone habits I have.

As I sat in my mopey state, I turned to something that always makes me happy - interior decoration magazines. I flicked through the latest edition of Adore Home Magazine.

I love this magazine to bits. Being able to simply click on an item and then be directed to the website is simplicity at its best.

How stunning is this orange feature?

If you have not had a read, I suggest you do!

Another one of my favourites is Belle.

Work.

Considering there was a public holiday on Monday, this week has dragged.
Weekend, please please please hurry up!

Outfit post. NB. My office is very conservative.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

Confessions and outfit.

I have a confession to make.... I am horrible at remembering to take photos for my blog. I really need to get into the habit of taking more photos! I must must must etch it into my mind. I also don't carry around a camera (only my Samsung Galaxy) so the photo quality is not ze best.

On Sunday night I headed to Love Mac with the girls.

I wore a Kaftan...

And I carried...

It is amazing how much one can squeeze into a clutch. By the time you factor in your wallet, keys, lipstick/gloss and mobile phone the clutch is pretty much at capacity! This Chanel wallet is a lifesaver.

Curling Wand/Stick.

My Curling Tongs are on the verge of a breakdown. I have been using my $30 Remington large barrel tongs for about 2 years now. Quite frankly at that price, I am surprised they have lasted the distance.

So I am either thinking either the Cloud 9 or Muk Curl Stick.

Cloud 9 Wand:

From what I was reading there are a three different types of the Cloud 9 Wand. I can rule out the "Micro Wand" because that appears rather small. So that leaves the "Waving Wand" or the "Wand" (pictured).

Muk Curl Stick:

Has anyone used either of these items? If so, what are your preferences and why?

Or does anyone have any other recommendations?

Halleluiah, the weekend is here.

Not only is the weekend here, but it is a long weekend!

I started back at work on 7 January, but my gosh does it feel like forever ago.

It is for that reason I am welcoming the long weekend with open arms. Big arms.

Albert Hadley.

Albert Hadley was such an inspiring interior designer.  He was one truly gifted man.
Every time I see one of his designs, my heart does a little dance.

And how can I forget Mrs. Astor's Upper East Side library. Such glamour.

“Decoration is really about creating a quality of life, and a beauty in that life that nourishes the soul, that makes life beautiful. That’s what all this is about, not just what’s in and what’s out” – Albert Hadley

38 degrees and sick.

Melbourne is meant to reach 38 degrees tomorrow.  We have had such an inconsistent "summer" (if that's what you call it!).

I have somehow managed to come down with the flu. Yes, that's right - in the middle of summer. During times like these I turn to the one and only Sleep Tight by T2. It contains lemonbalm, jasmine blossoms, lavender and rose petals. Such perfection.

Jonathan Adler, Happy Chic Colours.

I recently picked up a copy of Jonathan Adler's "Happy Chic Colours".

It is such a pretty and upbeat book. Absolutely everybody should go out and buy it!

Jonathan has thoroughly gone through a range of Chic Colours throughout the book including: blue, yellow, black, red, beige (which he described as "Chambeige"), orange and green. There are handy hits and colour palette suggestions throughout.

All in all, a very good read!

What other interior decoration books (aka bibles) do people LOVE?

Until next time.

Living Room Envy.

I have some serious Living Room Envy right about now.

I am enthralled with some of these picturesque homes.

Candace Bushnell:
Absolutely love the above space and cannot fault one thing. The abstract art countered with the neutral setee is perfection.

Aerin Lauder:
This living space is from Aerin's East Hampton house. The colour palette is very sea appropriate, however I am not loving the straw-like carpet.

Jessica Stam:
Very inspired by this space, but I feel the colour of the curtains are letting the room down. It is hard to tell but they look like inverted pleats. The hue/tint combination in the curtains/wallcolour is just too much for me.

  Nina Garcia:
Again, perfection. Nina Garcia is a true style icon in my eyes.

Jennifer Lopez:
Love this space.  Absolutely flawless.

Fellow bloggers, have you got any favourite Living Rooms? If so, please share!

Hola.

Hola!

This is a lifestyle and fashion blog with a sparkle of miscellaneous ramblings.

I am a 20-something Melbournian, who is planning on making 2013 the most memorable year EVER. I know that is a very big call, but I can feel it in my bones.
